March favorites

Good evening, beautiful. Can you believe that March is over in just a few hours? The first few month in this year, has just flown by, if you ask me. But times fly when you are having fun, right?
Today I want to share my March beauty favorites with you. Some of the things, I actually had for a very long time, but only started to use now. Where some is really new, so it's a good mix of everything.

And keep on reading, if you want a discount code on Ole Henriksen's products!

Let's start with my cleanser from Ole Henriksen. I am in love with everything Ole is making. So far I've seen a big difference in my skin, with all the products I used. This is one of my favorites, and my second container. This is from his African Red Tea collection, and it's the foaming cleanser.
I use this every night, after I removed my makeup, to get all of the extra dirt off my face, so I can go to bed with a clean face. And after only a week or two, I can see and feel a big difference on my skin, when all of my blackheads and spots are starting to go away.
It is, to be honest, a pricy product. But if you use this site, you can get a big discount. And I have a special code for you, so you can get 10% extra discount. Use the code "ILOVEIT", and safe a lot of money! The code is valid for this week only.

This month, I've also been using a specific eyeliner almost everyday. This one is from MaxFactor and is called Masterpiece glide and define, in a brown color. And since it is brown, it just give my makeup a more natural look, instead of a black eyeliner. I only use the eyeliner on top of my eyelashes, this way it will open up the eye more, and not frame it in, with a dark color. I've been wearing it for up till 15 hours per day, and it's stays in place all day long.

Next I have two palettes. The first is from Urban Decay, and is the naked basic palette. I've already written a little review on the naked 3 palette here, and it is no secret that I'm a huge fan of Urban Decay.
This palette is a little mix of a few colors from the three other big palettes, but in a lovely travel size. I chose this palette, since it has a lot of neutral colors, which is more my style. When ever I'm going somewhere, I bring this little guy as my only option for eyeshadow, because I can still create a lot of different looks, even with only six colors.

The other palette, is a corrector and concealer palette from Sleak, and it's the no. 4 palette. It's not because I contour my face that often, but when I'm going out in the town or for dinner, I like to do a little extra. And here it really come in handy. It comes with a highlighter, a contour and a powder to set it all. It comes in a lot of different shades, so it suits everyone.

And last, I have a few lip products. First I have two lipglosses. If you even seen Gossip Girl, Selena once said: Lipstick last longer, but lipgloss is more fun. And I agree. I also own a lot of lipglosses, but not so many lipsticks. But these two has been my favorites this month.
The first one is from Naked, and is called Lovechild. Urban Decay makes really pigmentet products, which is perfect when it comes to lipglosses in a light pink shade. I bought a lot of light pink pilglosses throughout the years, but never found one, that you could actually see on my lips. Until now. It lasts a long time, the color is very pigmentet and it isn't sticky. It basically has it all.
The next lipgloss is from NYC. I actually can't find a name on this one. I don't know if it maybe were on the packaging, but since I got this as a gift, I don't have that. But it's a nice nude color, which smells like caramel. And if you knew me, you would know, that I think that is the best smell ever! So that alone, is reason enough for me, to love this lipgloss!

The last two things, are these lipbalms from Nivea. Now, I know that one of them says Labello, but if you buy these in Germany, it will say Labello on the packaging, and not Nivea. I don't know why. Is it the same company? But anyway, it's not a knockout, it just has a different name in Germany.
But this is the best lipbalms I have ever used. I have all of them now, they made five in total. My mom got my the one with coconut, when I was visiting last week. She knows how much I like these, and how hard they are to get in Denmark. I think I have one on me everywhere I am. On my nightstand, in my bag, in my gym back, on my desk and one with all of my makeup. They really hydrate the lips, and leave them super soft. Plus they smell so delicious.

Outfit of the day - movie night

Good morning lovelies. Are you enjoying your Saturday so far?
Today I have another outfit post for you. Yesterday my BF and I had a dinner and movie kinda date. We went to a nice american restaurant and afterwards we went to see Kingsman - if you haven't seen that movie yet, go see it. It's definitely worth it.
It's still pretty cold here in Copenhagen, which dosen't go that well with the dresses, you want to wear on a date with your man. But luckely I have a few sweater dresses to wear, when the weather is not following the season.

Dress Stradivarius. Heels Deichmann.

Last summer I went to Maderia with one of my girlfriend, and we both fell in love with this dress, that we found in a local shop. And therefor bought two each - one in this deep red color and a grey one. This red one, really suits on a date. I paired it up with my very high heels, that has this nice red heel. I don't wear them that often, because they are very high (at least to me) but since we didn't walk around that much, they were perfect.

I especially love the back of the dress, where it has a low cut back. The dress don't show much from the front, so it gives it a little extra with the deep back. Not to revealing, but still sensual.
I kept it really simple with the jewelry, since I think the dress and the heels are enough on it's own. There is a lot of red going on, so I kept it with that, and only went for some earrings.

I often find myself wearing the same kinda thing on a date; a nice dress and a pair of heels. It's my go to look, to impress my man.
How about you? Do you have a go to outfit, when it comes to dates?

Mascara tips og tricks

Happy friday, lovely readers. I'm home again from my quick trip to Germany, and I didn't came empty handed. As always. My mom drove me home this time, so I bought a lot of things. Clothes, bags, shoes, makeup, beauty essentials, things for my home and a lot of liquor from the border between Germany and Denmark. I couldn't carry it all by myself, if I had to take the train as I normally do. But it was a nice trip, but it's always good to be back home again.

On to the blog! I thought I would start a series of posts, with my tips and tricks on different beauty products. For example nail polish, foundation, eyeshadow, hair and today mascara.
All of the tips, is just what works for me. Maybe not for you, but maybe it's worth the try.

  • Store your mascara the right way. I store my mascaras in an old candle holder, with the brush tip down. If you store it, with the brush tip up, all the liquid will drop to the bottom, and you will not get any mascara on the brush. The same thing, if you keep your mascaras laying flat, then only one side of the brush, will have mascara on it.
  • Keep it in a dark place. Like a lot of other beauty products, the mascara does not like the sun either. I keep all of my makeup in a closes drawer. Avoid to much heat and sun light.
  • Remember to throw them out. On most mascaras, there is a little icon with how many month the mascara can last. Normally it says 12 months. However a mascara will get dry after 2-4 month, depending on how much you use it. Then you feel like your mascara is a little dry, it properly is. And then you need to throw it away and buy a new one. A dry mascara will crumble and look bad on your eyelashes.
  • Don't "pump" your mascara. Many girls tempt to pump the mascara before using it. This will let a lot of air into the container, and make the mascara dry out a lot faster. You have enough mascara on the brush, when you take it out of the container - if you don't, it's a sign you need a new one.
  • If you don't have a new mascara and the one you have on hand is dry, you can add a drop of water. This is not the best solution, but it will work for one or two times.

  • Don't sleep with your mascara on. Actually this goes for all of your makeup. If you sleep with your mascara on, it will dry out, and in worst case, cause them to break off.
  • Only use waterproof mascara when you really need it. It's harder to remove waterproof mascara from your lashes, and it's therefor more damaging for your lashes to wear a waterproof mascara.
  • Build up your mascara. I always start by curling my lashes, with a eyelash curler. After that, I use a lengthening mascara and finish it off with a mascara with a volume formular. I still haven't found a mascara that can give me the same effect, as two mascaras can. And I always use minimum two layers. But let the layers dry, so they won't get lumpy.
  • Avoid lumps. Apply your mascara with a "zig zag" motion. This will avoid most of the lumps, that you get by applying the mascara the normal way. If you still get lumps, try to wipe the brush on a paper towel, to remove the excess mascara from the brush.

  • Find the right brush. For me, it only works with a "real" brush, like the one in this picture. If I use a mascara with a silicone brush (or whatever you will call them) my eyelashes will clump together. But you need to find out what works the best for you. So try out different brushes.
  • Use blue mascara agains tired eyes. If I had a late night or trouble with my sleep, I use a blue mascara the day after. The blue mascara will make the white in your eyes pop, and defocus on your dark circles (and of course a good concealer)
  • If you get any mascara on your skin while applying the mascara, you can easily remove it with a cotton swab dipped in a little bit of water. No need to use force to get it off.
  • Use mascara as an eyeliner. If you run out if eyeliner, you can easily use your mascara and a eyeliner brush. Just run the eyeliner brush over the brush for the mascara, until it has enough mascara on, and apply it as you would normally apply your eyeliner.
  • When you finish a bottle of mascara, clean the brush and use it as a brush for your eyebrows.

I hope you could use one or two of my tips. Do you guys have any mascara tips to share?

Outfit of the day - red peplum

Hello lovelies! And happy tuesday. Do you guys have any special plans for this week? As some of you may know, I'm in Germany until wednesday, and when I get back it's actually just work for almost the rest of the week.
While I'm visiting my parents, my mom and I need to go on our usual shopping trip. The best part of them living in Germany, the prices are so cheap compared to the prices in Denmark. Today I thought I would share my "shopping haunting" outfit with you.

Top H&M. Jeans Only. Heels Malene Birger. Bag H&M.

It took my a while to jump on the peplum trend, but now I really like to wear them. To be honest it's not the most flattering shape for my body shape, however I still think it looks so adorable. I paired it up with my skinny jeans. Every woman should really own a pair of skinny jeans, if they are the right fit, they can complete so many outfits - at least in my opinion.
And of course I wear this outfit with my Malene Birger heels, which I already shown you a couple of times. But when you find a good pair of heels, you gotta wear them, right?

My no-makeup makeup look

Good morning girls. So today I want to share my everyday makeup essentials with you. This is simply what I use to get ready everyday, when I just have to get to work, run errands or meet some friends for a coffee.
When I was younger, I always spend a lot of time getting ready. In my teenager years, I could easily spend one too two hours getting for ready for school. Now I can get ready in around fifteen minutes.

This foundation I been using for a few month now. It's the stay matte foundation from Rimmel. The consistency of the foundation is actually quite thick, however it feels really light on the skin. It gives a great coverage and stays on for hours. I use a concealer from Nilens Jord, which I also use as a highlighter on the bridge of my nose and on my cheekbones. Underneath my cheekbones I use this conture powder from L'oreal. And that pretty much sums up my skin routine for makeup.

I use the eyebrow kit from Wet n' wild, to define my brows. It's only a few years ago, since I started to do my brows to. I didn't realize how big of a difference it really makes. Now I just do them as a part of my everyday makeup routine.

On my eyelids I only use two colors. I use the palette naked basics 2 from Urban Decay. I use the color naked 2 on my eyelid and the color faint in my crease. To finish the eyes, I use a few layers of mascara. Today I used one from essence.

To finish the look, I normally just use a lipbalm or, like today, a nude lipstick. This one is from w7 in the color naked. It's a matte lipstick, and after a few hours it will dry my lips, so I always remember to have a lipbalm on me, so I can fix the lipstick so my lips don't look dry.

How much time do you guys need to get ready in the morning?

Outfit of the day - business attire

Hey everyone, hope you are all having a lovely day. As I mentioned yesterday, I had a few girls over for some wine and chit chatting yesterday, which were really nice. But I must say, I can feel it a little bit today, and I had a hard time leaving my bed this morning. I sat my alarm for eight in the morning, since I had a lot of stuff to do (for example pack for my trip to Germany tomorrow) but somehow I didn't really manage to do any of it. I just wanted to watch one episode on netflix - currently watching this - and bum, three hours has passed by. I can't be the only one who did that stunt. But at least I got to work on time, so I did complete one of my tasks today ;)

Where I work, we have to wear black and white everyday. Which is starting to become quite a challenge, since black and white quickly can look a little boring. I tried to spice an all black outfit up a little bit.

Top H&M. Blazer Primark. Jeans Only. Heels Malene Birger. Bag Louis Vuitton.

Today I chose this all black outfit. A pair of slim jeans, a tank top and my trusty blazer. I put the outfit together with my lovely heels from Malene Birger, which I made this post about. I think they really give this look a "business" vibe, which is perfect for my job. The bag is actually my moms, that she got many years ago. But since she never used it, it lives with me now. Lastly I put on my long owl necklace, just to break up all the black.

So that sums up my outfit for today. Nothing to fancy, but still suitable for work.
I'm spending most of my day at the hotel, but I still have a few hours later to see my BF one last time before I'm visiting my parents in Germany. I will only stay there a few days, but it's still nice to have a few days off and get away a little bit. So the next couple of days, the posts on the blog will be pre-written, since I don't know how much time I will have for the blog while I'm gone. I will be back on normal track on thursday. Take care!

Healthy snacks #2

Hello beautiful girls, and happy friday! Finally time for the weekend again. Tonight I will have some girls over for a couple of drinks, and therefor I thought it would be nice with a little healthy snacks for them. I found this recipe a few days ago, and been wanting to try it out. It's a really simple recipe and easy to make, however the taste is really intense and delicious. Like a real chocolate truffle.

What you need is:
  • Half an avocado
  • Vanilla beans
  • 100 g dark chocolate
  • Cacao powder
Melt the chocolate. Mash the avocado until it's smooth and without any lumps. Combine the two ingredients, when the chocolate is melted and stir in the vanilla beans. Put the mixture in the fridge for a few hours, so it can harden and is therefor easier to roll into little balls later. When your mixture has harden and you're left with little truffels, roll them in the cacao powder and you are done.
I like to store these in a airtight container, in the fridge, so they can keep nice and fresh - and they will start to melt a little bit, if you don't keep them in a cold space. You can store them for a week in the fridge.

These are perfect for the person who craves chocolate, since the taste of chocolate is so intense in these guys. The avocado makes them really moist and creamy, so they have the perfect texture of a little truffel. They are just much more healthy, than a regular truffel. Give them a try, and I hope you will enjoy them!

Outfit of the day

A late happy skt. Patrick's day, to all of you, who celebrate the day. Here in Denmark, we don't celebrate it, but on social media it kinda exploded yesterday. I spend my Skt. Patrick's day shopping. I got an invitation to a Malene Birger sale, where they really knock down all the prices. I had soo much clothes and shoes, but since my boyfriend and I just bought a trip to Prague in april, I put most of it back, to safe some money for out trip. But I could not let these shoes go! I have a really hard time finding shoes that fit me, since I use a size 36, but this time I finally found some.

It's a really classic and casual shoe, with the iconic print of Malene Birger. When I was younger, I hated shoes with the pointy tip, but I'm so in love with these! The heel is not so high, so they are really comfy to wear. I haven't put them to the big test yet (eight hours at work) but so far they are really comfortable to wear.

Today I wear them with a black and white floral dress, that I got from H&M a few weeks ago. I'm not really good at mixing different prints together, but I think the dress and the shoes actually goes really great together. And the spring is starting to kick in now, so it's the perfect time to wear the cute dresses again - but it's still too cold for bare legs though.

Healthy snacks #1

Good evening girls. Today I have a delicious snack idea for you - and it's one that you can customize as you like. I named this post healthy snacks #1, because I'm thinking of making this into a little series of posts, with a lot of healthy snacks. Which I hope you will enjoy!

Let's start with the snack of today. This little guy has almost everything. It's sweet, chrunchy, chewy and you can sprinkle it with whatever you want, to give it ekstra flavor! I always have these in the fridge, so I can snack on them, when my stomach is screaming for something sweet.

The recipe is pretty simple and easy. You will need:
  • Almonds
  • Pitted dates
  • Chocolate(of your choice)
  • Topping (also of your choice)
Put an almond in every date. Melt the chocolate, dip your dates in the chocolate and cover the whole date. Before the chocolate get's hard, sprinkle on your topping. Here I'm using shredded coconut and raw licorice powder.
Let the chocolate harden on the kitchen counter. If you put them in the fridge right away, they will absorb the water from the fridge, and it can make them a little gooey - and not in the good candy-gooey way..

I've only tried these with dark chocolate, but I think they will be just as delicious with milk or white chocolate. I also made some with dried raspberries on top, which I can highly recommend.

Meatless monday

Good morning, beautiful! And welcome to a new week.
Today I decided to try meatless monday, as many mondays as I can. I'm not a vegetarian. At all. But I would like to eat less meat, and more fruit and vegetables, and try to be a little healthier. But I honestly don't have that many recipes on delicious meals without meat, so this is all new to me. A nice challenge.
Today I will try to make my own version of the bean salad. I love black beans, and therefor the bean salad is a perfect meal for me, on meatless mondays.

What I used:
  • 1 can of black beans
  • Loose corns
  • Peas
  • A few baby carrots
  • Feta cheese
And it's a really easy dish to make. Rinse all of the vegetables, I only used vegetables from a can, so I didn't need to cook them - but if you use fresh corn e.g., remember to cook them first.
Mix all of the ingredients together, and sprinkle on the feta cheese - I mashed the cheese with a fork, instead of little squares of feta.
The bean salad comes in a lot of different variations, this is just my take on it. I think the normal basic is just the beans and corns, and then you can add in whatever you like.

Top 3 - Disney edition

Hello everyone, I hope you enjoy this lovely Saturday. Yesterday I told you about my plans for today, which involve a trip to the theater (going to see some comedy with that special someone) and later going out for dinner. And tomorrow I have the whole day to myself. I don't know about you, but once in a while, I need a day totally to myself. And sunday is that day.
Lately I been wanting to catch up on some old movies, in this case Disney movies, since that is one of my favorit genres. So I think most of my sunday will be on my couch, watching movies. And therefor I though that I would share my top three Disney movies with you guys. These dvd's are in danish, but I don't think you will find it hard to guess which is which; Hercules, Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin

My favorite of these three, is Beauty and the Beast - which is why I cried happy tears, when I heard they are making it into a real movie - and if you haven't seen it, you are really missing out. I see myself a lot in the character Belle. Basically because she loves books so much. But the movie is about a prince, who is so shallow, that a witch turns him into a beast, and he can only break the spell, if someone will love him, even though he looks like a beast. And of course he finds Belle. She ends up in his castle, because she want to safe his father (the beast toke him hostage) which is why they don't start off on a good food. But of course, they end up falling in love.
It's such a sweet movie, that has it all; you laugh, you cry, you are just happy. It has a lot of great songs. And it's just amazing!

Hercules is about the son of Zeus, who gets kidnapped by Zeus evil brother Hades. Hades makes him (almost) mortal and therefor a normal person, which means he cannot get back to his dad. To do so, he needs to become a true hero. And of course it involves a beautiful lady.
Aladdin is the story about a poor guy, who finds a lamp with a magic genie, which will fulfill three of his wishes. The good old story, about how you should be carefull what you wish for. And this story of course also involve a beautilful lady.

I'm a huge Disney fan, and it's only very few movies, that I don't like. The Hunchback of Notre Dame, is definitely not one of my favorite.. But a Disney movie never fails to get you in a good mood. A true feel good movie.
Which Disney movie is your favorite?

The perfect spring jacket - part two

Good morning girls. And happy friday! I hope all of you got though the week with a smile. I finally have a weekend off, for the first time in a month. I really need this weekend now. Tomorrow I'm going to the theater with my bf, and out for dinner afterwards. And sunday I have the whole day to myself, which I'm really looking forward to!
Do you guys have any special weekend plans?

Yesterday I wrote the post on my perfect spring jacket, and also that I still had one to show you. This is it! Normally I'm not a jacket person.. I just have one jacket, that I wear most of the year, and when it gets cold, I just throw on some layers. But recently I found myself buying more and more jackets. I think I have five now, which is a lot for me! But two of them, are my spring jackets.

This one is from Creme Fraiche and you can find it here. I'm so in love with this jacket. It's made of a really light material, which also makes it perfect for a cold summer day. Right now, it's pretty cold here in Denmark, so I have to layer another jacket on top of this, to keep me warm, but I hope that I soon can wear it as it is.
It also come in black, but I'm trying to avoid to much black clothes, as I already have way to much black and white. And it's nice to spice the closet up a little bit with some color. Plus I think a nude color suits everybody.

The jacket really have some nice details, which the leather material and double zipper. The only downsite to this jacket, it that the pockets, isn't really pockets. It's a trap! But it looks nice and give it a little extra.

So this is my take on a perfect spring jacket. Hopefully the weather will allow me to wear them!

The perfect spring jacket - part one.

Hello beautiful friends. Sorry for the few days without a blog post, but I've been so busy on the hotel lately, so it's been hard to keep up with everything! So I finally got some extra time on my hands to show you this jacket, that I been wanting to show you for a while now. My take on the perfect spring jacket - and I made this into two parts, since I got two beautiful jackets to show you.

I recently bought this jacket, after I saw a colleague of mine, wearing it. And I fell in love! It comes in three colors; white, pink and grey'ish. It is from the store vero moda, and I tried to find it only, but could only find this one, which I think is just a shorter version of mine. But it's still available in the store.

It's made out of this super soft material, that makes it perfect for the colder days. And still it's not to warm, to wear in the nice spring days. I even wear it at home sometimes, just because it's so soft and comfortable to wear.
The only downsite, is that you tend to drawn in it, because it is kinda big. Mine is in a small size, and even this is a little to big for me. But then again, you can eat an extra cookie, and no one can tell ;)
Have you found your perfect spring jacket yet?
